How To Use Airpods With Android

Apple’s AirPods can be connected to Android phones, even though they’re designed to work exclusively with Apple devices. So regardless of whether you have an Android or Apple Watch, this setup will allow both device types to be used. Additionally, compatibility between AirPods and Android devices means you don’t have to give up your phone to experience the world’s most popular earbuds — third-party statistics back its popularity.

Connecting your Apple AirPods to an Android phone will generally be limited. AirPods are not compatible with the default settings on an Android phone.

To play music from your AirPods, you’ll need to follow these steps:-

  • Enable your Android phone's Bluetooth capability by opening Settings.
  • To initialize AirPods, open the lid of the case and wait for up to ten seconds. Once you see a white light flash (which lasts about 5/10 seconds), hold down on the back part of the case until it changes colors again.
  • To connect your AirPods to the Android phone, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth. You should see the AirPods appearing on the list of available devices. Since the Android OS has variability, Bluetooth settings are available under Settings > Connected Devices or directly under the Settings menu — depending on which device you're using and what kind of operating system/custom skin you have installed.
  • Connect your paired AirPods to your phone by tapping on the name in the pairing notification.

Once you’ve set up your AirPods with an Android device using the steps below, they’ll function like other earphones or headphones. This means that once you connect to them, you won’t need to worry about repeating the pairing process for each song – it’s all stored on your phone.
